This week, The Alec Baldwin Foundation will make two $500,000 contributions to the New York Philharmonic & the Roundabout Theatre Company as part of our on going partnership with Capital One.
The Alec Baldwin Foundation will be contributing $500,000 to the New York Philharmonic to support the Zarin Mehta Fellowship Program. The Zarin Mehta Fellowship Program is an integral element of the New York Philharmonic’s Global Academy, a major initiative to be launched during the 2013-2014 season. The Global Academy will expand the Philharmonic’s role as a significant resource for advanced training for young musicians and orchestral ensembles, through multi-faceted partnerships with music conservatories and orchestras in the United States and abroad. You can learn more about this program, and the New York Philharmonic, here .
The second gift of $500,000 to the Roundabout Theater Company will help support RTC”s New Play Initiative. This program cultivates new work by gifted playwrights at all stages of their careers through a three-pronged approach consisting of commissioning new works; developmental readings and workshops; and productions of new works through our Roundabout Underground program and our mainstage productions.
